Producer: Starr Hill Brewery, Crozet, Virginia
Beer Name: Snowblind
Price Range: $9.99 (Six-Pack)
Appearance: Dark brown, almost black and opaque
Aroma: Hints of coffee, molasses, and burnt oak
Notes: When I cracked open the bottle, it actually foamed out of the bottle. I quickly poured it into a glass where it shows a small off-white head that quickly dissipated with next to no lacing on the glass. The taste is of burnt malts at the front with hints of molasses and coffee toward the back that linger on the palate. It has a little bite up front but eases toward the finish. It sweetens as it warms and is surprisingly smooth for a 7.4% ABV. Not bad, but not as good as my favorite doppelbock, Troegenator.
