Virginia Pour House Notes: For those not familiar, Arneis is “a little-known grape variety native to the Piedmont region of northern Italy, where limited plantings of the grape exist.” In short, this grape is extremely rare not only in Italy, but also in the United States – almost as rare as Hart’s Aleatico offering. The Arneis is exhibits wafting floral aromas with hints of ginger and white stone fruit. The body is very well balanced and bone dry with vibrant tart acidity, a crisp mineral driven backbone and a clean, lime accented finish. Perfectly paired with a California roll or other fresh sushi. Hart’s Arneis would appeal to those of you that enjoy Pinot Grigio or Syval Blanc.
