12 Beers of Christmas, Day 10: AleSmith IPA

On the 10th day, an IPA from one of my favorite San Diego breweries.

Producer: AleSmith Brewing Co.
Region: San Diego, CA
Style:
 India Pale Ale
Appearance: Pale straw, slightly hazy
Aroma: Citrus, slightly piney, floral notes
ABV: 7.25%

Virginia Pour House Notes: AleSmith’s IPA pours a pale straw, slightly hazy, with a nice thick white head. The aroma is mostly citrus, but some pine and floral notes sneaking through. Pine notes dominate at the start, with some sour citrus coming through in the middle. The finish is a bitter combination of the two and it lingers long after the sip is finished. Medium-bodied, this beer packs a ton of flavor for a regular IPA. It is juicy, resinous, and fitting of a west coast IPA.

Desert hillsides lined with sparse greenery, palm trees and a lot of rocky soil. As we approached the "Welcome to Temecula" sign, we drove past gorgeous housing communities and neighborhoods, which had me scratching my head. Okay... so, where is wine country? [...]
