Producer: Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars Region: Finger Lakes AVA, New York, United States Wine: Red Oak Vineyard Riesling Price: $19.99 Vintage: 2013 Varietals: 100% Riesling; (12.8% ABV) Virginia Pour House Notes: Built on a backbone of crisp apple and pear aromas showing off zesty citrus undertones followed by crisp delicious apple flavors up front with puckering tartness from front to mid-palate while going the distance with light notes of lime and a crisp minerality and finishing with more ripe fruit and mineral notes in an off dry manner. The finish really shows off the tart lime qualities that were shown early on, but are subtle towards the back palate. Overall, a decent Riesling, but could use some time to settle that tart quality. In fact, a couple of weeks back, I met the Proprietor from Valley of the Moon Winery in California, and it was because …Read More »
