Out of Town: A Day Exploring Temecula’s Wine Country

Last year, I finally took advantage of the opportunity to visit Temecula’s Wine Country. With iPods loaded with crazy throwback tunes, playlists roaring and near perfect weather, my friends and I hit the open road on our way through the hills to Temecula. What was I expecting upon arriving? To be honest, I had no idea. I had been to Stone Brewing Company the previous year so the scenery I was looking for was similar to that. Desert hillsides lined with sparse greenery, palm trees and a lot of rocky soil. Ingleside Vineyards; A Post-Turkey Day Visit

It’s kind of sad to say that prior to the Saturday after Thanksgiving, it had been since springtime since I last visited Ingleside Vineyards.  Since then, several new varieties and vintages have been bottled and a few great events have been missed.  With that being said, I thought what better time to visit than in the midst of the holidays. After speaking to Chris Flemer, my girlfriend, her mother, and I hit the road on our way to Oak Grove. Chris was there to welcome us and was kind enough to give the grand tour to the ladies, followed by a nice tasting in the Barrel Room. Amazing how in a matter of months, Ingleside had released 9 new wines. A few of these new releases are heavy hitters.
