Good Luck Cellars; Revisiting a Northern Neck Gem

This past year, my in-laws purchased a new home on the middle peninsula of Virginia, and it’s location is a mere 20 minute car ride across the Rappahannock to Good Luck Cellars. After exploring Irvington a bit, we decided to take a short drive to Good Luck Cellars as it has been a couple years since my last visit. Located in nearby Kilmarnock, Virginia, Paul and Katie Krop’s Good Luck Cellars is a venture that started from backyard wine making to finding the perfect parcel to grow a business. Missouri Wine: In Norton They Trust; Stone Hill & Adam Puchta Wineries

A few weeks back, my boss gave me the heads up that I would be attending the Midwest Regional meeting in Osage Beach, Missouri. Though the thought of driving three plus hours from the airport in St. Louis wasn’t all that appealing, the chance to try some of Missouri’s offerings (specifically the Norton’s) was more than enticing. After landing, I got my rental and headed down to the Lake of the Ozarks. I did a bit of research which didn’t yield any worthwhile wineries in the area of Osage Beach. After a successful conference, I drove east on US 54 to the scenic MO 94 East towards Hermann, Missouri. First stop on this excursion, Stone Hill Winery.
